My name is Vicky Glisson, founder of Heaven Sent Healthy Pet.   Long before I ever unlocked the front doors of our physical storefront, I was—and still am—in the trenches of canine feeding & health every single day. I don’t just read about dog nutrition on the internet; I live it. I feed 20+ Cane Corso’s, that I breed, raw every day. If you know anything about large breeds, you know they eat a ton of food, and their bodies require peak nutritional support to maintain their joints, muscle mass, and overall vitality. And breeding stock must be in top condition to produce the healthiest puppies possible.  Feeding a pack of that size forces you to know for certain that what you’re feeding your dogs has to work, for both you and them.  With that many dogs, it must be the healthiest food available at an affordable price. I had to learn the truth about what the modern dog food industry marketing has led us to believe about what our pets must have for ‘a healthy and balanced meal’.  
 

Years ago, I went on my own health journey with my family.  We were constantly sick in and out of the doctor's office and I was tired of being sick along with my children, all the time.  In my own journey towards better health, I researched and found there was a better way for my dogs as well.  Just like human doctors and our ‘food industry’, I soon realized that the commercial kibble industry and conventional veterinarians were failing our dogs.  That realization sent me down the rabbit hole of herbal health, raw feeding, and natural holistic remedies for dogs. I didn't just want to feed my dogs; I wanted them to thrive. 
 

I soon realized there are so many pets suffering from chronic allergies, itchy skin, open sores, lost hair,  lethargy, picky eating and SHORT life spans—mo-st of it accepted as "normal". It isn’t normal. It is a direct result of highly processed, biologically inappropriate kibble diets, over vaccination, toxic heartworm meds, flea and tick applications that are the normal schedule for most pets. I became a Pet Wellness Advocate because I couldn't keep this information to myself. I have spent years studying the impact of a raw diet, concentrating my experience with 100’s if not 1,000’s of breeding dogs and puppies, and the incredible healing power of raw food, herbs, holistic remedies, and essential oils. When I decided to open a physical Pet Supply Store in Wilmington NC, my goal was simple: to create the space that not only has the answers to many health issues dogs face but also make it a place that is welcoming for beginners, where people can come for answers without being intimidated. I wanted to build a haven where pet parents could walk in, ask hard questions, and get real, transparent answers—not a sales pitch for the most expensive bag of burnt brown cereal on the shelf.
 

Building out this storefront was and still is a labor of love. From signing the commercial lease to setting up our meat freezers, sourcing the best ingredients and the absolute best products that actually do the job of healing your pet's chronic health challenges. Every decision was made with every pet's health and longevity in mind. We have a Mobile Holistic Veterinarian that utilizes space in the store for her out of town clients and we refer our customers to her for their pet's deeper needs.
